DESCRIPTION

GENERAL FUNCTION: Implements the policies and procedures required for Center Security in a humanistic and professional manner. Secures from harm, theft or misuse the grounds, property, students and personnel of the Center.

DUTIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: In order to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Conducts assigned investigations, including collection and preservation of all evidence and information pertinent to any breach of security, safety and practice or law.Develops any leads related to students' misbehavior through investigations and contacts.Photographs and secures the scene of any serious incident and conducts a search for physical evidence.Labels, identifies and preserves all physical evidence obtained at a crime/incident scene in order that it may be presented in a competent court of law, if necessary.Interrogates suspects and interviews witnesses concerning the alleged commission of an incident or crime, when necessary.Prepares a complete and precise report of the incident, upon the completion of an investigation.Patrols assigned posts and premises.Reports to designated authority all infractions of rules/regulations and violations of local or state laws and information pertinent to a crime or incident.Establishes and maintains rapport with students.Assists in the training and development of students assigned to the Security Cadet Program, when needed.Describes goals, performance expectations and standards, and articulate how their individual performance supports the admission, career preparation, career development and career transition of students.Answers incoming telephone calls and dispatches to appropriate offices.Programs the switchboard to other offices when switchboard is not in service.Greets callers in a pleasant manner and directs calls to proper locations and maintains visitor list.OTHER FUNCTIONS: Exhibits behaviors and best practices that are consistent with the vision and values of the company.Practices social skills and behavior management with students and staff that are consistent with the Job Corps Social Skills Training Program and Behavior Management System.Practices safe work habits to eliminate and control potential safety and health hazards and to maintain a safe work environment. Attends all safety training as scheduled.Works as part of the team to ensure that Outcome Measurement Standards Report Card goals are obtained.Displays, supports and integrates employability skills, attitudes and knowledge into all phases of career development and student life on Center.Operates Center vehicles to provide transportation for students as assigned/needed.Performs other job-related duties as may be assigned by designated and/or authorized staff.This job description does not list all the duties of the job. QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's Degree preferred. One year experience in military/industrial security or fire prevention required.Substitution: Above the high school level on year of college education may be substituted for two years of safety, security or law enforcement experience and vice versa.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Effective verbal and written communication skillsEffective organizational skillsEffective interpersonal skills Licenses or Certificates: A valid Regular Driver License is required.
