DESCRIPTION

GENERAL FUNCTION: Supervises and administers all initial placement tests; entry, interim and exit tests of Adult Basic Education (TABE); TABE for GED entry and other assessment tests as required by the program. Counsels students regarding test results. Serves as the Computer Managed Instruction (CMI) Administrator.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: In order to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Maintains current copies of all test booklets, answer keys and score sheets in a secure location at all times.2. Administers the Job Corps placement tests to all new students within 48 hours after arrival.3. Provides instruction and supervision to students on the proper use of the Center Information System (CIS).4. Provides employability skills, social skills, diversity training and conflict resolution training to students during the Career Preparation Period. 5. Ensures that tests are administered in accordance with instructions and within the time frame specified.6. Provides appropriate staff with written copies of test results.7. Schedules make up testing sessions for students whose names appear on the weekly CMI generated testing roster.8. Compares TABE (entry, interim and exit) scores and reports results to appropriate staff.9. Posts TABE results as required.10. Reviews internal files on a routine basis to ensure that all students are tested in accordance with the time schedules established by Job Corps.11. Provides on going training sessions to familiarize staff with testing materials, procedures, etc.12. Assesses students' limited English Proficiency, Basic Information Technology Skills and Learning styles.13. Describe goals, performance expectations and standards, and articulate how their individual performance supports the admission, career preparation, career development and career transition of students.

Practices social skills and behavior management with students and staff that are consistent with the Job Corps Social Skills Training Program and Behavior Management System.3. Practices safe work habits to eliminate and control potential safety and health hazards and to maintain a safe work environment. Attends all safety training as scheduled.4. Works as part of the team to assure that Performance Outcome Measurement Report Card goals are obtained.5. Displays, supports and integrates employability skills, attitudes and knowledge into all phases of career development and student life on Center.6. Operates Center vehicles to provide transportation for students as assigned/needed.7. QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor Degree with six semester hours of course work in testing.NOTE: Teaching or counseling experience preferred.Substitution: Education and experience above the high school level may be combined to meet the minimum requirements for this position. One year of college education may be substituted for two years of Job Corps experience or experience in a similar area.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Effective verbal and written communication skills* Effective organizational skills* Effective interpersonal skills* Classroom instruction and curriculum development* Ability to interpret data and analyze its use within educational programs Licenses or Certificates: * State Teacher's Certificate preferred* A valid Regular Driver License is required.
