The Quality and Business Excellence (QBE) team focuses on helping business leaders drive Microsoft’s business results targeting revenue growth, quality, productivity and customer satisfaction. QBE works with talented individuals and teams to build skills, sustainable processes and best practices to manage our business predictably while delivering on our scorecards and customer commitments. We’re focused on building and retaining Microsoft’s intellectual property and making it widely available so that we tackle business problems on a continuum, getting better and better over time, and staying ahead of market expectations. This business process improvement/IT Strategy resource will be supporting Core MSIT product and services functions as defined by the Business Process Alignment Transformation. The right candidate will also play a key leadership role in the Transformation process, coordinating work across all QBE teams to ensure strong alignment to MSIT investments across the different client groups. Fully integrated with MSIT Leadership, this person will also support Business Management functions for the VP of IT Strategic Services leader. This Master Black Belt resource will also provide mentorship to Black Belts by sharing best practices and knowledge around Six Sigma tools & methodologies, project management and team leadership, plus mentoring skills for Green Belts and their projects. This right resource must be able to quickly understand the business in order to recommend improved, strategic and sustainable solutions as well as identify further opportunities for improvement. Master Black Belts will partner closely with senior leadership in their home organization and their business partner organizations, Operations and Services. This demands high proficiency in clear communication, navigating political landscapes, change management, and the ability to effectively influence with limited authority. Master Black Belts are expected to participate in the Six Sigma community at Microsoft through engagement with other Six Sigma professionals, driving the standardized certification process across the enterprise, and actively supporting & participating in the Six Sigma training program. Work under this role is divided as follows o 70% of the time driving multiple long term projects with high complexity, strategic value, and executive visibility

o 20% of the time mentoring Black Belts across the enterprise

o 10% of the time advancing the Six Sigma program and community

10+ years of related experience Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business; graduate degree preferred Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification or equivalent experience preferred, minimum BB certification required

o Strong written/oral communication skills required along with desire to communicate with business leaders

o 8-10 years of relevant transactional business experience within IT or other relevant functions.

o Demonstrated ability to motivate self and others, has the ability to mentor and coach others

o Conflict/Negotiation management; ability to impact and influence at a GM or VP level

o Project management o Consulting experience preferred

o High energy individual with a “can do” attitude

o Strong process orientation skills; ability to develop enterprise-wide solutions

o Good analytical and organization skills

o Experience using Word, PPT, MS Project, Visio, and Excel
