Job Summary: The Shift Captain will work a designated night time 12-hr shift from 7 pm -7 am and will ensure product meets the expectations of customer through random visual and dimensional audits and hourly process reviews. Will assist the Supervisor/Process Technician supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers, such as Material Handlers, Machine Operators and Assemblers. Job Functions include but not limited to: Ensure verification product meets expectations of the customer prior to shipment through random inspections, sign off and inspection of labels. Review each process that is running once per hour for compliance. Support training of production and operating workers. Coordinate with appropriate management and technical resources to resolve issues. Perform selected data entry and reporting activities. Participate and offer input to corrective and preventive action and continuous improvement projects. Responsible for daily coordination of activities directly related to the injection molding operations, and measurement and assessment of the results. Prioritize, coordinate, assign resources to, and assist with required tear-down, set-up and start-up of jobs according to established procedures and guidelines on various size injection molding machines and their associated auxiliary equipment with the goal of minimizing machine down time. Run automatic machines and give breaks to Machine Operators as assigned by Supervisor/Process Technician Answer basic machine alarms and operate touch screen as instructed by Supervisor/Process Technician Must treat all associates in a professional and respectful manner. Promote and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Perform any other duties as assigned by management. Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED/or equivalent experience Basic knowledge and experience with thermal plastic and engineered resins used in injection molding or basic knowledge and experience using calibers, various quality gages (i.e. pin, push, pull, thread, etc.) and quality processes. Experience in mold function and modifications required to achieve proper part requirements. Ability to read part prints, determine critical part characteristics to assure proper processing and use an assortment of gages typical to part qualification Experience and ability to perform basic mold and press maintenance and repair. Basic computer skills. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs Abilities Required: Must be able to work with minimal supervision Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment Standing 100% of time while using the machines no sitting Ability to analyze and resolve problems. Maintain excellent attention to detail Must have good hand eye coordination, steady hand to trim flash or measure parts Attendance and punctuality are monitored closely to ensure the production line runs smoothly.
