Bilingual Quality Specialist
Under the direction of the Supervisor of Quality Programs, the Quality Specialists will maintain a working knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the Quality Counts Quality Rating and Tiered Reimbursement System (QRS). QRS Specialists will support and advance program improvement efforts of home and center based programs.
Specific Responsibilities include: Maintain working knowledge and understanding of the Quality Counts QRS policies, DCFS licensing regulations for homes and centers, related program business administration trainings, training tiers, star levels and processes. Coordination and presentation of Quality Counts QRS Orientation and Level One trainings. Coordinate "What Is CCAP?" trainings in each of the Community Partner catchment areas. Recruit participation in the Quality Counts QRS system, distribute materials and supplies, provide updates of QRS specific information to Illinois Action for Children and Community Partner staff. Develop, recruit and coordinate Quality Counts QRS program improvement co-horts that will include trainings related to the Quality Rating System. Provide additional education, outreach and technical assistance relating the Quality Rating Have an adequate understanding of the larger implications of high quality child care on a child's development and the role of a consultant. Serve as a liaison between program/providers, Community Partners and Illinois Network of Child Care Resource and Referral (INCCRRA).
This position requires: Bilingual English/Spanish required Bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education or related field Minimum of two years related experience working in a child care setting with young children Access to reliable personal transportation, valid Illinois Driver's License and proof of insurance Ability to work with a flexible schedule, which may include nights and/or weekends Ability to work well independently and as a team member Effective professional written and spoken communication Ability to travel locally, with occasional statewide and national travel
