The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing the technical expertise expected of a TS16949 Registered automotive supply chain facility. Specifically, this position will, at a minimum, provide leadership in the following areas: TS16949 Activities, APQP, Process Flow Charts, FMEA's, Control Plans, PPAP, MSA, Corrective Action (7D/8D) Reports. Additionally, the Quality Engineer will be accountable for providing supervisory oversight of Quality Lab personnel and activities, including scheduling of labor requirements to support the needs of the organization and provide support to the Quality Manager. The Quality Engineer must be a skilled communicator, with the ability and willingness to effectively interact with the customer on a regular basis. Summary of Essential Job Functions: Back up and assist Quality Manager. Ensuring the quality of the product prior to it being shipped to the customer. Provide technical expertise to support TS16949 related requirements. Perform internal audits per the TS16949 requirements. Report on the performance of the Quality Lab to the Quality Manager for review and as a basis for improvement to the quality system. Corrective Action Administrator. Develop PPAP packages for customer part approval. Must be able to interact with the customer when quality-related issues arise. Identify opportunities and make recommendations that will lead to strengthening the position of the organization's TS16949 Quality System.. Provide input related to Quality Lab staffing requirements to meet organizational objectives. Ensure Quality Lab Staff has necessary tools (knowledge and/or instrumentation) to perform required expectations. Perform / Administer the Quality Measuring Equipment calibration system. Support, by example, a continuous improvement philosophy. Assist with all necessary quality requirements as prescribed in the Job Books. Develop, review and approve changes to process documentation. Conduct dimensional measurements per Quality Control Plan. Recommend changes required to achieve acceptable quality and cost requirements. Coordinate with appropriate management and technical resources to resolve issues. Perform selected data entry and reporting activities. Maintain requirements of monitoring systems to assure proper control and accountability. Must treat all associates in a professional and respectful manner. Promote and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Perform dimensional layouts on prototype and production parts. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Overtime work is required as scheduled.
