Quality Evaluation of New Products
Facilitate a clear understanding of Fingerhut’s quality requirements with vendors.
Participate in resolution of vendor quality audits, maintaining corrective action plans and ensuring reaudits are completed in a timely manner.
Coordinate vendor efforts to decrease operational expenses and improve the customer’s experience by ensuring the correct packaging materials are used, correct product labeling, etc.
Increase inventory turns and improve the customer’s experience by implementing preventative methods to reduce product quality issues at product receipt.
Identify and maintain data for federal and state regulations for specific product categories. This may include hazardous materials, California Prop 65 and CPSIA.
Coordinate and interpret inspection results of shipment inspections (final random inspection or initial production inspection) performed by an independent auditing and lab company.
Coordinate vendor parts replacement program with customer service, reducing the number of parts fulfilled internally
Resolve quality issues identified by Receiving and Customer Service
Collaborate with Fulfillment Receiving (Quality Control) and Merchandising staff to identify and resolve product quality issues. Recommend corrective action to Merchandising staff and vendors.
Responsible for timely disposition of quarantined product and issuing rework debits as required.
Team with Customer Service and Quality Control to resolve quality issues and advertising errors surfaced through Customer Service.
Customer Experience Product Data
Analyze product return rate and reasons along with Product Ratings/Reviews:
Monitor return rates and reasons by identifying high returning products. Propose product changes to improve the quality of merchandise to accomplish reducing returns and increasing customer satisfaction.
Research customer negative ratings and reviews taking corrective action to resolve issues
P rivate Brand Product Development
Product evaluations – determine alignment with Bluestem Brands quality standards, potential customer satisfaction issues, potential shipping issues, adherence to product safety standards, and propose potential product enhancements.
Develop product quality standards for company private brand products, including minimum quality standards.
Coordinate and interpret test results of Bluestem Brands product protocol lab testing for compliance
Provide technical expertise in the creation of product specification packs to communicate product construction, dimensions and specific brand requirements to the manufacturer.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Product Development, or closely related technical degree.
2 to 5 years of Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Product Development experience.
