Job Description

If this describes you, Welcome to HOERBIGER as a Quality Assurance Engineer This position is responsible for the overseeing all quality related activities at this location through the following activities. Identify and drive both manufacturing and supplier quality improvements, programs and issues. Development of the site’s quality procedures, problem resolution plans, quality metrics, coordinate the resolution of quality issues internally and externally through cross functional team members and assisting engineering process variation reduction plans. General Duties:
• Research and write procedures for the Quality Assurance Department along with any special processes that would contribute to the quality of a completed part and/or assembly.
• Create and lead cross functional teams in quality investigation, root cause analysis, and development of action plans to resolve quality issues.
• Controls of nonconforming materials.
• Responsible for developing metrics and reporting on material and time consumption due to off-spec goods or goods which are re-worked to achieve prime grade specification.
• Review incoming materials for conformance with raw material specifications.
• Identify and execute of quality improvements in manufacturing space, utilizing new technologies, methods and equipment to ensure all goods leaving the facility are in compliance with quality standards.
• Confer with engineering, production, methods or any other required parties on quality problems and recommend solutions.
• Upholds the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and is involved with both internal and external audits from an ISO registrar or customer.
• Recommend new methods / instrumentation / equipment for use in quality assessment of manufactured articles
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
: Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field and minimum of three years in a Quality Compliance position in a manufacturing industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Polymer or machining manufacturing quality control process is preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities:
ASQ certified and Six Sigma certification is preferred.
Experience in auditing to ISO9001:2008 is a plus.
