Quality Assurance Inspector

Responsibilities:
Perform receiving, in process, and final inspection on Structures and Propulsion major sub-assemblies, including mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic parts, components, and sub-assemblies

Document launch processing and test anomalies in accordance with prescribed procedures and process as required

Assist with the specification, purchase, and maintenance of calibrated measuring and test equipment

Communicate and help resolve quality related issues as they relate to the launch site and other SpaceX locations i.e. Testing, Production, and Manufacturing.

Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment

Travel as required to the California factory, Vandenberg launch site and the Texas Rocket Development Facility to assist the quality team across the SpaceX enterprise

Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED, entry level required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in aerospace industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environment

Preferred Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of Quality Assurance principles, methods, and processes

Associate’s Degree or higher preferred, years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered

Knowledge of Avionics and electrical systems is preferred

Knowledge of Aerospace Propulsion and Principles is preferred

Knowledge of Aerospace Structures is a plus

Knowledge of GSE Systems and general associated equipment is a plus

Strong knowledge and experience in Aerospace Standards and its general practices

Windows operating systems, Intermediate

Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), Intermediate

Additional Requirements:
Ability to work at elevated heights

Physical effort including standing, lifting and carrying moderately heavy materials or equipment (15 to 50 lbs.)

Occasionally exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain

Work occasionally performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise

Significant overtime may be required.

ITAR Requirements:
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
