Quality Assurance Supervisor
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline
5 years’ experience with minimum of 5 years managing quality inspectors within union manufacturing facility
Must have in-depth knowledge of ISO, SAP, Minitab and Excel
Knowledge of Inspections and Quality Control methods, techniques and equipment. Process and quality improvement experience with knowledge of 6-Sigma, Kaizen, SPC and Process Control
Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Manufacturing certification experience is preferred.
The purpose of this position is to Provide direction, coordination and interaction of the Quality Assurance functions within the respective production facilities to produce the highest level of quality workmanship at the minimum cost. Promote continuous improvement by coordinating accurate and timely assessments of activities affecting quality and customer satisfaction.
Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures
Manages and improves product quality by completing product, process and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.
Develop, implement, communicate and maintain a quality plan to bring the Company’s Quality Systems and Policies into compliance with quality system requirements
Manage and maintain the Company’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods
Provide statistical data, Pareto charts, SPC data as part of a multifunctional team to maintain both dimensional and functional capability in the manufacture of components
Manage the customer complaint processing systems to ensure effective and timely resolution of all complaint investigations. Investigate product complaints and prepare documentation and submissions to appropriate regulatory agencies as necessary
Manage the internal & external audit program including maintaining certified trained auditors, schedule audits, ensuring non-compliance & opportunities for improvement are properly documented & closed out per required timing, these audits include process, product, layered, customer & vendor audits • Organize and manage quality assurance function in close co-operation with the customers and with the Company’s Management team.
Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data
Participate with Supply Chain to select suppliers, manage the SQE in performing audit and qualification of new suppliers through ISO compliance and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
Engage R&D to identify candidate suppliers such that they can be qualified on time with new product introductions.
Reviews root cause analysis of problems & coordinates corrective actions w/ responsible depts.
Evaluate relevant customer information to determine whether orders or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards & meet all applicable quality/regulatory codes
Develop & maintain the QMS procedures & work instructions in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14000
Review all inspection records for compliance & be the responsible authority for the release of customer products after final inspection
Manage QC inspectors in performing quality checks of raw, work in process, and finished product through inspections
Identify areas of improvement within the organization and drive to completion with by establishing partnership with applicable departments
Developing policies and procedures to align with corporate goals to continue the registration certificates to remain competitive
Participate in daily meetings, assign functional managers quality action items for continuous improvements
Proactive approach to performing process, product audits to exceed customer requirements, both internal and external, assure non-compliance issues are abated
Complete knowledge of developing teams of various functions to deploy SPC and control charts
