A paraprofessional who, in support of and under the direction of the Quality Assurance or District Manager uses proven quality techniques to track, analyze and report on materials, processes and products to assure that they meet the company's quality standards. Audits/tests and inspects products at various stages of production process. Audits/tests shall be performed in accordance to Quality Standards/Procedures/Instructions that apply to meet customer specification requirements. Compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
Interprets engineering drawings, prints, specifications, and or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
Assists manufacturing with First Piece inspections as required to verify product conformance on set-ups, record data as required, identify First Piece, notify operator and/or supervisor immediately if changes are required to meet specifications.
Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical or chemical characteristics and records data.
Notifies operator and/or supervisor immediately if changes are required to meet specifications.
Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
Provides assistance on SPC charts to monitor process control and product conformance. Make sure that operators understand charting techniques.
Perform receiving audits on all incoming production materials and record data on Supplier History Record and maintain files.
Perform all quality audits and tests in accordance to current Quality Standards/Procedures/Instructions.
Provide customer with documentation when requested.
Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
Provide the initial identification, documents and control of nonconforming material/product discovered during an audit or test.
Forward appropriate documents to Quality Manager for MRB action.
Conducts inspections on new tooling/fixturing to be used in manufacturing and inspection processes.
Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.
Perform periodic shipping audits for completeness, proper identification, paper work and packaging per customer specification or company standard packaging.
Perform regular calibrations on all measurement and test equipment used in manufacturing and quality audits.
Calibrations shall be performed as scheduled and documented on the calibration cards.
Perform inspections on all customer returned nonconforming product. Verifies defects on return material.
Provide a report of inspection findings for analysis and corrective action.
Provide information for development of prints on reverse engineering projects when requested.
Prepare required work instructions.
Inspects materials or products using fixed or variable measuring instruments.
Checks for irregularities or defects.
Compares product with parts list or sample model to ensure completion of assembly.
Files mill test reports.
Provides mill test reports for customers.
Under general supervision, performs a variety of tasks which require a thorough knowledge of inspection techniques, materials, gauges, tools and equipment.
Has responsibility to shut down equipment if product is of poor quality.
Has responsibility to stop shipment of material if product is of poor quality.
Provides technical assistance to sales and operations personnel.
Responsible for providing error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.
