Job Description:
Our Client Located in Chicago, IL with more than 90 years of success as a quality food manufacturer is currently looking for a Quality Assurance Technician. This position will be at the Company’s production facility on the south side of Chicago.

Job Responsibilities include:
Assist Quality Control Technician by performing analysis tests on raw and finished products, recording results, and notifying supervisor and production department of adjustments as needed and retest.

Inspect product for proper color, texture, size, thickness, hardness, moisture, weight etc. Compare products run on each line with the production schedule to ensure proper products are produced.

Inspect package material and final products for code date, proper seals, weight etc.

Ensure product meets established specifications, and is approved for production.

Report all rejected products to shift supervisor and follow through until defect is corrected.

Place product on hold as necessary, fill out proper reports and give information to Shift Supervisor.

Work closely with Packers and Supervisor to resolve problems.

Check and assist machine operators with maintaining SPC charts.

Complete a wide variety of documentation to record product characteristics and discrepancies.

Enter data into computer and generate report summaries including hold, manufacturing, process, and packaging reports, customer returns, and loss runs.

Prepare corrective action request for discrepancies and issue to proper supervisor.

Log and maintain list of quality issues, summarize and refer to manager as scheduled.

Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.

Use calipers, micrometers, grinders, measurement devices, computer, calculator and other common office equipment.

Job Requirements include:
Associates Degree preferred in Chemistry, Micro-Biology, Engineering, Food Science, or a related degree and at least 1-2 years experience in food manufacturing

Must be available to work any assigned shift, weekends and holiday overtime as required

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and understanding of food science and food safety

Knowledge of basic math, oral and written communication skills and computer literacy

Ability to work effectively with others, motivate employees and elicit work output

Must pass drug and background check
