The quality control manager will direct the activities designed to measure and improve the accuracy and effectiveness of the processes used for the delivery of products and services. The quality control manager works within general methods and procedures and exercises considerable independent judgment to adapt and apply the guidelines to specific situations. The work requires knowledge of the policies, procedures, and regulations of quality control work, supervisory techniques, personnel policies, and procedures.
The quality control manager is also responsible for the following: issuing corrective action and preventive action reports, which also includes supplier corrective actions, ensuring that measurements are being recorded by the operators, training employees in 1632 and 1633 compliance, holding quarterly management review meetings, completing capability studies, document control, and compiling data for charts and graphs.
QC jobs primarily involve sampling, measuring and verifying that manufactured products meet predetermined quality standards/specifications in addition to writing work instructions.
