Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc., Americas most innovative, family-owned family of brands, a distilled spirits producer and supplier of such well-known brands as Evan Williams Bourbon, Christian Brothers Brandy, Burnett’s Vodka and Hpnotiq Liqueur, is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking, and innovative individual to join our company as Quality Control Manager at our Bottling facility located in Bardstown, Kentucky.

The Quality Control Manager will provide leadership for the organization in a manner that allows us to exceed our customers expectations in the manufacturing of relevant and innovative beverage alcohol products of superior quality. The Quality Control Manager will define, develop, and document consistent and reliable quality standards for an effective and formal quality management system. This individual will be responsible for leading and driving a consistent message about Quality with an emphasis on defining and implementing a quality inspection, auditing, and driving the definition of site quality metrics, reporting and operating mechanisms. The Quality Control Manager will be expected to coach and develop team members, improve skill sets, identify best practices and optimize the use of quality tools to enable the team to provide superior quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accountable for ensuring full quality and regulatory compliance while driving process effectiveness and efficiency
Monitor, control, and analyze product and process quality to meet internal and external customer requirements
Determine continuous improvement projects through the analysis of statistical data
Lead continuous improvement activities to drive organizational change
Responsible for root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions
Ensure customer and supplier quality issues are resolved using problem solving methodology
Perform vendor/supplier Quality system evaluations and audits
Establish and maintain product and process specifications for suppliers
Work with management staff in analyzing data for purpose of developing and implementing preventive measures to eliminate quality defects
Communicate quality goals and requirements by preparing and disseminating standards, metrics, standard operating procedures (SOP) management, and vendor documentation
Improve quality compliance by recommending and following-up on improvement plans, writing training courses, contributing information to cross-functional quality improvement teams
Prepare quality assurance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
Establish quality metrics for the operation that drives awareness, action, and continuous improvement in quality daily
Facilitate Lean Six Sigma process improvement opportunities throughout the plant and be the plant ambassador for quality and process excellence
Work with plant team to identify and implement opportunities for improvement, cost reductions and equipment maintenance
Ensure a safe working environment for all employees through the commitment to company safety policies and procedures

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline, such as Engineering or related field, and six years progressive experience in a quality function; or equivalent education and experience
Managerial experience in a work environment with proven quality processes
Proven leadership skills (experience successfully managing people, projects, and processes) in a union environment
Excellent understanding of Quality Management Tools to include Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control, Process Mapping and operations management concepts.
Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing certification preferred
Certified Quality Manager from ASQ highly desired or the ability to obtain within one year
Demonstrated experience with ISO quality standards
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop effective teams without direct control
Strong presentation and facilitation skills
Proven analytical and problem solving skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access or comparable programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Change agent with energy, passion and enthusiasm

Education Requirements
