Quality Control Manager

Job Description Summary

Ensure consistent quality throughout the organization

Ensure efficient deployment of our lab and field techs

Maintain a staff of top quality lab and field techs

Analyze and evaluate production and field data to determine optimum mix designs and optimum manufacturing unit operations.

Works closely with his/her department as well as with Sales to streamline and maintain a consistent QC/QA program.

Devises Quality Control and Quality Assurance performance standards and implements these standards within the QC group.

Mentors all employees engaged in QC inspection and testing activities to ensure the highest level of performance in all QC-related activities.

Ensures QC laboratories are well-maintained and well-equipped.

Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability. Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality in concert with product managers.

Regularly meets with federal, state and local officials in the TxDoT and Highway Departments to establish relationships and influence future quality standards.

Attends local, state and national association meetings relating to concrete to learn about new standards and procedures as well as industry best practices relating to QC/QA.

Other duties as assigned.

Work Requirements

Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Must pass a pre-employment “Fit for Work” physical.

Must be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.

Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.

Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA.

Must be at least 18 years of age due to nature of working environment.

Must possess excellent management and supervisory skills

Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Command, and Command QC.

Must be able to work in a safe and efficient manner.

Able to work independently with attention to detail

Able to respond to stressful situations and customers in a professional, courteous manner

Ability to effectively prioritize assignments to meet long-term and short-term deadlines

Excellent organizational skills

Able to write reports, document findings, and procedures, and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Able to work various times during day, night or weekend hours.

Employee must be able to work in all weather conditions and occasionally work near moving mobile equipment and operating machinery.

Education / Experience

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Five years experience in QC/QA field
