Works as directed by Project Management, Construction Manager, Project Manager or Quality Assurance Manager. Manages and provides leadership for Quality Control personnel and provides quality control inspection activities on assigned project and or functional areas to ensure that products or services provided are in accordance with customer and Parsons requirements. Regularly interacts with other employees, representatives from a variety of functional groups, and executive management, suppliers, subcontractors and client on project, and prospective clients.
Develops, establishes and evaluates the adequacy of specific programs used to train and test
inspection, examination, and testing personnel.
Qualifies, trains, certifies and supervises all Quality Control personnel.
Provides leadership for Quality Control support activities for assigned program(s) or project(s) to
ensure that products or services provided meet IAW customer and Parsons’ requirements.
Provides leadership for development and implementation of Quality Control Programs, procedures,
resource allocation, and training.
Interacts regularly with customers, program and project management. Also interacts with Parsons’
Quality Assurance and executive management.
Manages all staffing decisions (hiring/firing), conducting performance reviews, and providing salary
High School/Trade School diploma and 14 years of related construction experience or HS/TS diploma and 11 years related quality control experience with 2 years as Quality Control Inspector, Lead with previous management experience.
Appropriate Quality Control Inspector Certification required within 12 months of employment.
It is anticipated that individuals will be certified to perform activities in one or more of the following areas (or subjects): Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Instrumentation and Controls, Civil, Structural, Architectural, HVAC, Welding, Non-Destructive Examination, Receiving, and Special Processes. Certification to industry recognized standards, such as certification to DOT, IEEE, AWS, SNT-TC-1a, IEEE, ACI or International Code Council or internal Parsons certification requirements as part of the GBU Quality Control certification program, (developed and prescribed by GBU procedure, and administered locally or by the GBU) will be required.
4-year degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Math, Quality Assurance or related field and 8 years related construction experience or 4-year degree and 2 years as Quality Control Inspector, Lead with previous management experience.
2-year degree in the appropriate construction discipline and 11 years related construction experience or 6 years as Quality Control Inspector, Lead with previous leadership experience.
ASQ CMQ or CMQ/OE preferred. Evidence of previous certification required.
Additional years of education beyond the minimum requirement are considered equivalent to years of related work experience.
Must be tested for visual acuity and color discrimination as a part of employment.
Requires proficiency in the use of computers and software packages needed to support the documentation, analysis and retention of quality records.
Requires the ability to communicate clearly and interface effectively with a diverse group of professionals.
