The purpose of this position is to direct the activities of work with the Quality Control Inspectors during the Scheduled Heavy Maintenance Check (A, B, C, and D) at the Contracted Maintenance Repair & Overhaul Facilities to ensure the applicable Code of Federal Regulations and the World Airways General Maintenance Manual are adhered to and utilized.

Manage World Airways Precision (Calibrated) Tool and Equipment Program.


Ensures the highest quality of work accomplished during aircraft inspection at the Repair Vendors/Maintenance Providers, by using World Airways policy/procedures and FAA requirements.

Reviews Maintenance Check Packages to assure compliance with the assigned work package, and assure correct revision of work cards are issued with each inspection package.

Responsible for review and audit, at World Airways headquarters, all completed line station work packages, heavy check work packages and Logbook pages to ensure proper compliance and references are utilized during the maintenance actions.

Monitors the Maintenance actions required to comply with Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Engineering Documents, Fleet Campaign Directives, Major Repairs & Alterations, are completed per FAA requirements and company policy.

Responsible for over-site of the World Airways maintenance programs, including the review of Task Cards to assure procedures are current and reflects systems installed on World Airways Aircraft.

Makes recommendations to improve the inspection procedures and methods, to enhance the quality and economic efficiency of maintenance program and revises check task cards as required.

Provides scheduling for World Airways Inspectors (Directs and On Call positions) to perform all heavy maintenance check, emergency coverage of aircraft as needed and coordinate with Planning Department.

Assigns and assists QC inspector’s annual goals

Continually monitors and updates Quality Control Inspectors monthly schedule per AIMS forecast

On a monthly basis updates the Quality Control CASS Report and submit to Teamsai CASS Manager.

Assists Maintenance Training as required, in support of the Maintenance Training Instructor, and the Maintenance Training requirements as specified in the General Maintenance Manual.

Directs and coordinates activities related to the acquisition of aircraft and calibrated tools/equipment.

Projects, creates, and continually monitors the Quality Control Department’s budget

Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Quality Control.


A. Education and/or Experience

Associate’s Degree or Technical Training and 10+ years experience (or equivalent combination of Education/Training and Experience)

B. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.

Extensive knowledge of current Aircraft and Engine types Operated by World Airways.

Extensive knowledge of World Airways Aircraft Inspection Programs including DC10 MSG2, DC10 MSG3, and MD 11 MSG3.

Must be able to identifies problems, gathers relevant information and relates data from different sources. And should be able to makes decisions based on rational assumptions.

Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and methods in guiding/influencing others towards achieving outcomes.

Sets high standards for self and for staff.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
