Position Purpose:
The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for producing and maintaining accurate inspections and audits of molded components while maintaining quality standards. Additionally, s/he will be responsible for coordinating, directing and providing leadership and guidance to employees and will recommend and implements process improvements and procedural changes. Ideal candidates will have strong analytical skills, problem solving capabilities, and a critical mindset with the ability to work in a a fast-paced environment. The focus of this job centers around producing timely results that are high quality and accurate. Benefiting from an analytical, inquiring, and critical mind, this job requires imagination and strong problem solving skills, but with strong technical orientation. The position requires an ability to deal with abstract concepts, systems, and ideas and all of that in an organized and self- disciplined way,. It also requires that serious consideration be given to all possibly related facts and potential problems. Intellectual confidence is important in this job and to do it well it requires close, hands-on involvement, careful follow-up and very disciplined delegation.

Essential Job Functions/Tasks:
Interfaces with various support groups to meet inspection requirements of daily production. Meets daily on a formal basis with such groups to review the previous day's inspection results and current day's priorities. On a daily basis, researches, reconciles and provides feedback on all non-conforming material.

Responsible for production of quality molded components utilizing team dynamics and statistical process control techniques for problem solving and root cause analysis. Analyzes transactions that affect scrap records by summarizing root cause of scrapped components.

Provides leadership and guidance to quality control personnel. Teams with various support and customer groups to provide the highest level of customer service. Plans, organizes and implements process improvements and procedural changes.

Audits all storage and inspection areas to ensure that inspection equipment is stored in the proper locations and locations are clean and organized. Assist in evaluating and identifying current and future departmental space, equipment and training requirements.

Ensures that inspection equipment is kept in safe, accurate, and calibrated operating condition. Enforces the use of personal safety equipment by the work teams. Provides a clean and safe working environment.

Responsible for performance management of personnel on shift. Monitors individual performance levels. Writes and conducts employee performance appraisals and employee counseling sessions. Oversees new team members training and cross training.

Utilizes initiative to develop and manage multiple projects with considerations for fiscal responsibilities.

Collects and analyzes data while measuring details of work for accuracy,

Proofreads and checks information to assure compliance with standards and regulations.

Other Job Functions:
Performs other related task as assigned, some of which; may become essential to the position.

Adheres to all company and departmental safety procedures including use of personal protective equipment when necessary.

Required Skills

Education/Training Required:
Technical degree required; BS in Engineering preferred

Experience Required:
Minimum of five years in quality specific role, minimum of two year in injection molding environment and must have previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Must have experience of using problem solving tools and techniques. Ideal candidates will have experience in Quality Control, Molding, and Operations within the Manufacturing industry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
Requires strong knowledge of quality control processes, procedures, policies and guidelines.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to provide training to team members.

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and be able to interact with personnel at various levels within the organization.

Intermediate computer skills including knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to perform multiple tasks and work within specified time lines.

Ability to rotate shift as determined by management.

Flexible and able to adapt to changing organization needs.

Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Ability to push and pull to move items on two-wheeled dolly, four-wheeled cart and cherry picker.

Ability to work in a variety of positions (bending, kneeling, crouching) to gain access to areas of machines and to obtain boxes of parts from under machines.

Ability to climb stairs to gain access to work area. Ability to climb a wheeled platform ladder to gain access to high areas.

Ability to sit for extended periods to perform inspection activities. Intermittent walking to gain access to the molding department to obtain boxes of parts and to use testing equipment to complete inspections. Intermittent standing to use a comparator to perform inspection activities.

Manual dexterity, hand strength and coordination sufficient to grasp and use power equipment and hand tools and to handle a variety of parts.

Finger dexterity sufficient to use precision measuring instruments, to manipulate nuts, bolts, screws and other small components and to perform data entry into the computer and to complete paperwork activities.

Visual acuity sufficient to set up molds, to detect machine problems, to make machine adjustments, to inspect samples using precision measuring instruments, to read blueprints and to complete paperwork.

Work Environment:
Works in inspection area with linoleum floors and molding department with concrete floors and temperature controls in both areas. Exposure to chemical fumes from molding machine in molding department. Wears safety glasses hearing protection and safety shoe in designated areas.
