SUMMARY: Under the direction to the Director of Quality and Performance Improvement, the Quality Coordinator is assigned to work from the Quality Services Department to support the ACMC Performance Improvement Program and to support Medical Staff Quality Assurance.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE : The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.
In a consultative manner, assists in developing the Performance Improvement Plans for assigned departments.
Recommends and develops, in collaboration with the Medial Staff Department Chair or designee indicators designed to evaluate specific aspects of care related to patient care services provided.
Collects, evaluates and analyzes statistical data to identify trends or opportunities for improvement.
Investigates, evaluates and recommends problem-solving methodologies where outcomes would necessitate corrective actions.
Collaborates with Medical Staff and hospital departments to formulate corrective plans which correlate to the identified opportunities for improvement.
Facilitates progress with multidisciplinary performance improvement projects.
Analyzes and displays data utilizing appropriate CQI statistical techniques.
Completes all required reports accurately and submits at designated time.
Coordination of various performance improvement reports and medical quality reports in a timely manner.
Facilitates appropriate groups to develop recommendations for improvement.
Facilitates development of departmental review processes.
Prepares medical records to review and completes first level screening.
Attends/records minutes of the monthly QRC meetings.
Maintains physician’s specific quality and peer review.
Collaborates with department Quality designees to facilitate their completion of performance improvement planning and reports.
Develops physician profiles.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education : BSN from an accredited school of nursing Experience in Quality Management within the last 3-5 years of which experience must have been as a Registered Nurse in an acute care facility for medical/surgical patients. Experience with the following regulatory agencies: TJC, HCFA, CDPH, and others as necessary Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement and Performance Improvement.
PREFERRED: Previous critical care experience preferred.
