Responsible for coordination of organizational performance improvement and utilization. Monitors and evaluates patient care practice. Performs quality and resource utilization functions. Serves as a resource for medical staff and/or committees to assure quality medical care. Supervises and facilitates team developing performance measures, data collection methods, data analysis, and selection of improvement strategies. Education: Nursing degree from an approved school of nursing. Baccalaureate nursing degree preferred. Licensure : License to practice professional nursing in the state of North Dakota. Experience : Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in Utilization and Quality Management is desirable. Skills : Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain the department’s productivity standard in the management of the work assigned. Ability to form positive, collaborative relationships with hospital staff, and other professionals. Ability to problem solve in proactive, creative manner, using sound judgement based on factual information and clinical knowledge. Ability to effectively negotiate with internal and external providers of patient care services. Ability to develop leadership skills and to serve as a role model for clinical staff. Ability to work independently. Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills. Interpersonal Skills: Good communication skills are necessary because of the constant communication both oral and written. Excellent interpersonal skills and communication style. Physical Effort : Medium, involves a maximum physical effort requirement of 50 pounds sometimes. 35 lbs light medium work level with floor to waist lifting. 50 lbs medium work level with knee to waist lifting.
Hours of Work : Full time days. 40 hours per week. Hours may vary depending on patient care demands.
Other : Works under the following conditions, potential exposure to mechanical chemicals, electrical and infectious
environmental hazards. Able to perform effectively in emergency and stressful situations.
