QA Engineer Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for understanding all quality and manufacturing processes. The position will support and maintain all customer quality requirements (PPAP, CAR, PPM, CSR, etc.) The following is a more detailed list of responsibilities for the Quality Engineer:
  • Facilitate root cause analysis utilizing structured problem solving tools (For example, but not limited to,Fish Bone Diagram(Ishikawa), 5 Why analysis, Six Sigma, Shainen Red X, Poka Yoke, 8D, etc)
  • Maintain/improve Quality Management system thru internal audits, process audits, EN management and supervision of element champions
  • Support all plant efforts to reduce CONQ (error proofing, destructive costs, issue management, etc.)
  • Support efforts in development of new suppliers and maintaining/improving current supply base (process audits, improvements plans, Rec. Insp Plan, etc.)
  • Support all initiatives, direct and indirect, towards meeting plant AOP targets, including AQPP and new model launch
  • Develop quality schemes to monitor process quality and drive continual improvement

Job Specific Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong problem resolution skills (Must be able to facilitate problem solving activities plant-wide)
  • Drive problems back to process and be able to turn root cause on and off
  • Ability to multi-task several programs and activities
  • Strong communication skills (Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization)
  • Warranty review and analysis
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Science
  • 5 years experience in OE Automotive or similar manufacturing
  • 2 years experience in automotive manufacturing environment (TS16949 experience) preferred
  • Inernational Travel Likely
