The Playtex strategic business unit, which is a division of Energizer Personal
Care, is a leading manufacturer and distributor of a diverse portfolio of
consumer and personal products. Playtex is focused on Feminine Care products,
including Gentle Glide and Sport tampons; Infant Care products, including
spill-proof cups, baby bottles, pacifiers, and Diaper Genie; Sun Care products,
including Banana Boat, Hawaiian Tropic, and Alpha to Omega brands; and Skin Care
products, including Wet Ones and Gloves.
Primary Purpose of this Position:
Performs complex inspections and sets quality standards for both in-process
and finished products and materials.
Develops methods for testing, sampling, and training.
May evaluate production and lead improvements.
Oversees vendor Quality.
Works with quality and operation to train and oversee inspection activities
including the use of control forms, procedures, and correcting quality problems.
May act as internal consultant providing technical guidance on most complex
May lead projects and investigations to promote improvement.
Uses advanced statistics and Quality Engineering tools (i.e. FMEA, DOE, SPC
and MSA) to solve complex problems and recommend/lead CAPA.
Leads the evaluation and validation of new products and processes.
Facilitates change management activities
Supports external compliance audits.
Utilize effective communication skills to facilitate a cross functional team
in relationship to quality issues; including communicating with internal and
external customers to resolve quality issues.
Plans, schedules and conducts quality audits to appropriate regulations and
Facilitate effective root cause analysis activities and motivate
implementation and closure of Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA)
Work with vendors, and cross functional teams relative to line trials, and
Oversee non-conformances and deviations to closure.
Conducts on-site visits to support operation activities to ensure adherence to
procedures and regulatory compliance, and provide guidance in sampling and
testing techniques as needed.
Analysis of data /information and creation of effective reports for
management, and other internal groups.
Develop, review, revise, and approve Quality SOPs.
Review and approve New Product specifications, Bill Of Materials, Packaging
Assembly Specs, Non Conformance Reports and Deviations.
BA or BS in a technical discipline, preferably Engineering
CSSGB or CQA or ISO Internal Auditor
Process or Packaging validation experience desired
Five years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environment in a
quality related field, including supervision
Five years minimum experience in an FDA regulated business or ISO: 9000 Quality
Data Collection; Data Analysis
Technical Solution Development
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time (auditing).
Ability to travel - ground and air.
