Job Description:I. SUMMARY:
The Quality Engineer plans and supports activities to
maintain and improve Waukesha Bearings quality system to
assure manufacturing processes, inspection methods and
quality documentation meets or exceeds customer’s
requirements. The Quality Engineer will develop and
initiate new or improved methods focused on lowering
overall costs of quality by performing the following

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineer and Quality
Control Technicians to share knowledge of quality issues
and develop robust corrective actions to enhance/improve
overall company quality. Develop and support standards
and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation of
raw materials, work in-process and finished products.
  • Investigate and analyze causes of scrap, rework and
warranty work to determine root cause; develop/and
assist with implementation of modifications of processes
and procedures to improve quality or meet quality
standards at lower costs.
  • Interface with all business functions and departments
to get Bearings Plus ISO 9001:2008 certified by
documenting latest procedures. Maintain necessary ISO
documents and quality records.
  • Facilitate meetings with Quality Technicians, Managers
and production personnel on all shifts, to provide
guidance and instruction on proper inspection methods,
reporting procedures and problem solving techniques.
  • Confer with Manufacturing Engineering to improve
manufacturing processes with objective to stabilize or
increase process capabilities.
  • Maintain close contact with customers, including
customer site visits, to assure Waukesha Bearings is
meeting or exceeding customer’s expectations. Document
and communicate customer’s concerns to appropriate
departments. Develop internal training programs to
support customer’s requirements.
  • Participate in customer alliance initiatives. Develop
metrics and document customer quality KPIs.
  • Prepare professional correspondence to customers,
suppliers and vendors regarding quality issues and
coordinate required actions to resolve issues.
  • Audit and qualify vendors to assure compliance with
standards. Correspond with vendors regarding quality
problems and necessary corrective actions to be
  • Assist QC Technicians in performing processes required
for Final Release of customer’s products.
  • Develop and maintain internal quality KPIs. Analyze
data and propose countermeasures for improvement.
  • Develop and create written inspection procedures along
with forms and instructions for recording and reporting
quality data.
  • Establish Calibration programs to evaluate precision
and accuracy of production and testing/measurement
  • Perform and review Internal Quality Audits.
