We are looking for a high-quality individual to fill the position of Quality Manager at Huntair in Tualatin, OR location.

Position Summary:

Lead the implementation of a world-class quality culture at Huntair, with the mission to turn quality into a competitive advantage. Provide overall product and process quality input across functional areas to improve total quality for the organization. Performs the following duties personally or through direct reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Implement quality vision and spearhead the culture change to achieve that vision. Communicate the quality improvement philosophy to all personnel in the organization.

Formulate and maintain quality improvement objectives which complement corporate policies and goals and incorporate these goals and objectives into the expectations for the Quality functions at Huntair.

Analyze, evaluate, and present information concerning factors relating to quality such as business situations, production capabilities, and manufacturing problems for consideration by other management team members.

Collaborates with engineering managers to ensure new products meet quality standards and to identify and correct design problems on existing products.

Work with Sourcing and Materials Management in developing and implementing a supplier quality assurance program.

Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation.

Implement and maintain a common problem solving process, and quality data analysis tools.

Keep management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.

Prepare and present quality program information to the management team.

Establish quality disciplines (problem solving, data collection, prioritization and metrics). Develops and maintains a Quality Management System.

Review data obtained during all quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures. Review technical problems and procedures and recommend solutions or revisions.

Establish and oversee quality training programs (i.e. 6 Sigma, Fishbone analysis, Problem Solving, etc.).

Evaluate contents of reports from Quality Assurance Managers and confer with top management regarding areas for improvement .

Maintain a working knowledge of government, and HVAC industry quality code and standards, to ensure compliance and to drive continuous improvement of our quality metrics. Reviews technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in industry.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field with a strong background in Quality. Experience in Lean, 5S, and Kaizen preferred

Quality Engineer Certificate from American Society for Quality, preferred.

Seven plus years of Quality Management experience with increased levels of responsibility (personnel and production) with a demonstrated high level of performance, including at least five years as a Quality Manager

Preferred Experience: Five years’ Quality experience in the HVAC field or related industry. Experience with sheet metal fabrication, welding, brazing, and final assembly are also a plus OR Equivalent combination of education and/or experience
