Cargill Texturizing Solutions is a leading supplier of gelling and thickening agents as well as emulsifiers, focusing on supplying the global food and beverage industries. Cargill Texturizing Solutions offers specific solutions for improving stability, texture, consistency and shelf life in multiple food applications, based on a wide palette of ingredients including hydrocolloids, emulsifiers, lecithins, starches and soy flours.

General Purpose of Job: To develop and implement quality systems and to assure defect free and food safe products. Assure cost efficient operation of the quality control laboratory, assure regulatory compliance and maintain positive customer relationships. To implement Corporate Food Safety and Safety Requirements, as required. This position is will participate in the local leadership team and is responsible for all quality and food safety activities at the site. These activities include, but are not limited to maintenance and development of the Quality Management Systems, quality control laboratory, customer concern resolution, plant quality improvements, and employee development and training.
Serve as site HACCP/Food Safety coordinator to lead quality and food safety continuous improvement initiatives
Assure facility and products meet local regulations
Partner with operations to build a strong food safety culture at the site
Partner with operations staff to ensure pre-requisite programs are effective for producing a safe food product
Facilitate the successful execution of customer, regulatory, and certification audits
Coordinate evaluation and implementation of new materials through collaboration with procurement and operations
Lead, direct, coach and develop QA/QC staff
Investigate production problems and customer problems and create preventive procedures
Bachelor's degree in a scientific field preferably in Chemistry, Biology, or Food Science
Previous food industry experience
5+ years of QA/QC and Food Safety experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of food safety management systems - HACCP, GHPs, and Supplier Qualification Processes
Demonstrated excellence in priority setting and execution skills. Able to handle multiple priorities and delegate
Demonstrated high level of problem solving ability to make decisions independently
Demonstrated ability to influence and drive organizational improvements
Familiarity with FDA food regulations and audits
Previous supervisory responsibility with demonstrated leadership and team building skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills - public presentation/training
Lead, promote and ensure site food safety requirements are followed
Experience with dry product blending
Experience with food starch and hydrocolloids
Experience working in the following systems: SAP, MS Office, LIMS
