Phillips & Temro Industries (PTI) is an international leader in the design and manufacture of engine starting and emissions products for the automotive, heavy duty truck and industrial equipment industries. PTI designs, validates, manufactures and distributes quality products in North America and abroad to customers such as Ford, General Motors, Cummins, Volvo and Daimler Chrysler.
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to ensure that our internal quality processes are aligned with customer’s expectations. This is a strategic position that serves as a key member of our Minneapolis Plant management team as well as our Winnipeg facility. The Quality Assurance manager will work closely with our Plant Manager, Corporate Management, Purchasing, Sales, Customers, Manufacturing and Engineering groups.
The Quality Assurance Manager will be accountable for:
Driving efficient Quality Systems by analyzing the current systems, assessing opportunities for improved efficiency and effectiveness, improving quality systems, and implementing new quality plans.
Maintaining and improving customer relationships as a key point of contact.
Developing and maintaining customer quality requirement documentation, as appropriate, and disseminating this information to assure compliance with stated requirements. Providing on-site support as required, including management of customer audits and other customer interactions.
Providing manufacturing process oversight to assure product compliance and seeking process improvement opportunities.
Driving supplier review, improvement actions, development and control as needed to assure product compliance and providing for vendor development opportunities.
Overseeing quality problem investigations and leading the implementation of corrective and/or preventative action when the product or process does not conform to stated requirements. Leading the implementation of preventative action based upon the regular review of quality assurance data to reduce variation and waste.
Collecting, analyzing, and reporting internal/external quality data. Providing recommendations for improvement projects and activities as related to product quality, manufacturing, and/or business processes. Reporting on quality to be published monthly; trending to occur quarterly and presented to quality and management for review.
Administering warranty and identify opportunities and action plans to provide feedback for product and process improvements.
Providing leadership, management, and employee training and development plans for quality assurance staff.
Preparing and delivering training and coaching of production staff.
Owning the Quality Manual including the content of the manual and the deployment of the policies.
The Quality Manager will be required to travel.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering required
5+ years of Quality experience required, 10 or more years experience preferred
Experience with or understanding of Lean Six-Sigma methodology strongly preferred
Team leadership and management experience required.
Experience in a final assembly environment strongly preferred.
