Job Description
his position is an integral part of the Quality Improvement team. This position is primarily responsible for abstracting pertinent information from patient medical records (both manual and electronic) to support all regulatory required projects. This position is the primary support person to physicians and nurses on the patient care units for real time documentation of quality metrics required for regulatory reporting (HQA, VBP). This position supports a variety of other system-wide quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum or Preferred Qualifications
Associates Degree in Health Information Management or other health related field required. Bachelors Degree in Health related field preferred. RHIT or CCS preferred. Solid knowledge and understanding of medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology in order to interpret medical record information. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work productively with minimum supervision. Highly organized and detail oriented. Ability and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and aggressive deadlines. Three years of healthcare experience preferred in an acute care setting.
Ability to gather and analyze data and generate reports.
