JOB SUMMARY This position has responsibility for cultivating a process-based, quality culture taking a proactive approach to implementing, facilitating, coordinating and managing the Quality System and related process improvements to include document control, procedure compliance and education. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Facilitate development of annual quality action plans to include goals, education, auditing, and continuous improvement activities. Manage implementation of quality improvement initiatives including the development of corrective and preventive action plans and Standard Operating Procedures. Liaison with customers and suppliers to ensure quality expectations are clearly defined and implemented. Provide technical expertise in the application of Total Quality Principles, process improvement tools and methods. Train and mentor others on the use of quality tools, measurement systems and data analysis. Devise and implement systems for recording, evaluating and reporting quality and reliability. Maintain and enhance customer audits and scorecards focused on improving performance. Implement statistical techniques that will advance problem solving and waste reduction efforts. Develop key process indicator (KPIs) and measure improvements. Develop and deliver education programs as needed to support the quality key competencies, ie, procedures, control plans, SPC, quality alerts, and food safety programs. Conduct production and supplier quality audits and inspections. Ensure corporate-required reports are timely and accurate. Perform other duties as assigned. Please describe frequency and means of travel (drive, air, train, etc.).This position may be responsible for multiple facilities so must be willing to travel overnight by various means. Other Requirements: Must occasionally be available for off shifts.Language Skills Must have clear, concise oral and written communication skills as well as good presentation skills to communicate in a professional, concise manner. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation Please describe the minimum level of education to be completed to perform this job at a satisfactory level. Two (2) years of college or technical school with a focus on quality or a minimum of three (3) years experience in related field of quality. TQM, SPC, or ISO 9000 Proficient with Microsoft Office programs Basic data analysis skills: ability to produce and interpret data Previous Work Experience Please describe the previous experience necessary to perform this job at a satisfactory level Three (3) years in the field of quality within a production environment Demonstrated skills in leading improvement and cross functional project teams Experience with quality systems such as ISO, TQM, Six Sigma, Continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing. Progressive roles of responsibility with continuous improvement, statistical analysis, document development and control and customer relations Experience in a GMP, HACCP food safety environment is a plus
