This position is located in Danville, KY and reports to the Plant Manager. The mission of the Quality Assurance department is to promote National Office Furniture ’ s success by continuously improving the quality of products, through team member development, process improvement and team work.
The Quality Technician is responsible for leading the plant wide Quality activities involving Quality improvements including i nvestigating, researching and developing corrective actions . This position will be heavily involved team member development and training.
The Quality Technician will work primarily on the production floor and will supervise the daily activities of Final Audit Inspectors as well as lead the internal Quality Team made up of cross functional employee members.
The following are specific performance objectives for the position. In assessing competency and fit, all candidates will be benchmarked against these standards:
A) Own all quality issues including supplier focus, team member focus and process focus:
ü Reduce Configuration Errors
ü Reduce Quality Notifications from customer base
B) Manage and create solutions to eliminate internal manufacturing errors and reduce repairs of finished products.
ü Analyze data from various collections to determine where to prioritize
ü Investigate, analyze and implement changes to process/procedures
C) Focus/Manage the Top 3 Quality issues and strategically develop actions to improve performance.
ü Participate in the development and delivery of a team member development process.
ü Participate in development of corrective actions and plans based on data and trending analysis.
ü Review specific Quality procedures and optimize them
ü Manage and review daily, weekly and monthly Scorecards
ü Develop a detailed plan to eliminate configuration errors and create robust controls of the current required manufacturing processes.
Other responsibilities of this position:
The Quality Technician must have the ability to apply quality background and methodology to systemically drive closure to quality issues. Mentor team members across all areas of the manufacturing process to define root cause and implement Corrective and Preventative Action.
The Quality Technician must be well versed in corrective actions and quality methodology and tools
The Quality Technician will need to effectively communicate and problem solve component related issues.
The individual would be a leader to all levels of the business. They would lead and inspire their teams to never stop driving to success. Someone that is self- motivated, who can manage multiple tasks with little direction and who is willing to lead the continuing Quality improvements of NOF. This individual needs to show results at all levels of the business and will create and implement systems to remove any and all roadblocks.
