This position will be responsible for Inspection of products, componentsand gauges used in the evaluation of products. Identify and appropriately document nonconformance of the items being inspected and assist in identifying the root cause to eliminate the nonconformance.
Essential Job Functions:
Train Victor employees in use of measuring equipment, measurement methods, and reading prints.
Inspect Victor components for compliance to print requirements.
Verification of mechanical dimensions, aesthetic characteristics, serial numbers, etc….
Excellent observation and problem solving skills
Perform detailed first article and layout inspections on purchased or manufactured products
Inspect and calibrate gages used in evaluation of products
Set up and develop measurement and layout plans to inspect Victor machined components and Assemblies
Analyze and solve problems using corrective actions and root cause analysis.
Perform process and product audits in support of ISO 9001 & ISO 13485 and other regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate quality records electronically and written.
Additional Job Functions:
Assist the Quality Engineers in developing and implementing control plans, SPC, and Inspection & Test Plans
Assist with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Six Sigma, & Lean initiatives
Participate and Support Continuous Improvement Projects & Initiatives
Follow all required ISO, regulatory, and statutory requirements
Identify conforming and nonconforming materials and gauges and process material in accord with Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
Relationships and Contacts:
All levels of company personnel, customers, suppliers and regulatory agencies.
Knowledge of machining and assembly of mechanical and electrical products
Good communication skills; oral, written, group presentations
Proficient in the use of inspection and metrology equipment
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
Detailed and Organized; capable of multi-tasking
Effectively use Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software.
ISO Auditor experience preferred
ASQ Certified Quality Technician preferred
ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Associate preferred
Associates Degree in a technical field with three (3) years of related experience; an additional four (4) years of related experience may substitute for the educational requirement. HS Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience developing and implementing inspection and test plans
Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) preferred
