The Vice Chairman’s Office in Global Markets has both client facing and official sector facing responsibilities. The Office is also responsible for various business development projects. One specific project requires substantial analysis across a variety of proprietary and publically available data. This job entails developing and conducting statistical computing research involving time series modeling, seasonal adjustment, and regression analysis. This role entails conducting analysis individually as well as directing the analytical work of others.
The person in this role will be responsible for the following:
Distributes debt/equity products to assigned account base with limited direction from more senior associates. Develops and maintains Client relationships and determines which products best meet Clients' needs. Studies market relationships and current market conditions to increase account/market penetration. Under the international context, can be the desk head for a small center managing 1 or 2 other salespersons.
Use time series data to develop quantitative models to predict key economic indicators
Review the project’s current methodologies for aggregating and seasonally adjusting proprietary data
Develop new metrics to illustrate economic activity for clients and policy makers
Coordinate and direct workflow with current data analytic team
Support existing production effort of ongoing project work
Strong background in time series models and other statistical/econometric models or methods
Prior experience with macroeconomic modeling
Masters in a quantitative discipline (e.g. statistics, econometrics, etc…)
Strong work ethic; ability to work independently
Experience with relevant statistical software packages
Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
Familiarity with seasonal adjustment theory and application is a plus
