TITLE: Quantitative Researcher 1
DUTIES: Responsible for performing statistical analysis to reveal hidden structure in the real world. Support and build a detailed statistical model of all possible weather events and the impact of weather events everywhere on Earth, so that every weather risk can be comprehensively managed with our insurance products. Responsible for writing modular, concise, production quality code based on this statistical analysis. Responsible for translating business objectives into statistical algorithms. Responsible for applying sophisticated statistical algorithms to big data. Responsible for building massively scalable systems for statistical signal processing, statistical machine learning, dimensionality reduction and more.
REQUIRES: Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Math, computer science, or advanced engineering degree with quantitative emphasisplus 1 year experience with statistical modeling in commercial setting. Experience must include: 1. Exp in sophisticated statistical modeling using C, MATLAB, R, or Python; 2. Exp in statistical machine learning methods; 3. Exp in writing modular, concise code based on this statistical analysis; 4. Exp in formulating solutions to business requirements within a statistical framework; 5. Exp or coursework related to distributed machine learning or modeling of large data sets. This position qualifies for our employee referral program.
