The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) functions in a multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of respiratory care. The RRT is responsible for maintaining high standards for a caseload of patients as described by the scope of care for the area of practice and demonstrates appropriate actions based on sound scientific research and evidence-based principles. The RRT also coordinates care delivered by the interdisciplinary team. The RRT is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Respiratory Care Laws, applicable regulatory standards, and institutional policies and procedures. The role is also one of working with all health care team members to provide the best care to all patients.

Education:
Graduation from accredited AMA school or Respiratory Program
Licensure:
Valid Ohio Registered Care Practitioner License
Certification:
Valid Ohio Respiratory Care license, CPR certification
required (NRP for FBC)

The ability to analyze, prioritize and evaluate patient
needs in an efficient and effective
manner.
