Support Carilion’s hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. Under the direction of a physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech language pathologist, physical therapy assistant or occupational therapy assistant, assists in providing therapeutic services, related clinical activities and maintaining the orderly function of the department.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
One (1) year of healthcare/patient related experience or equivalent.
Other Minimum Qualifications:
AHA BLS-HCP certification or ability to obtain within three (3) months and maintained annually. Complete hospital orientation and yearly requirements for performance evaluation. Complete unit orientation and competencies within three (3) months. Successfully complete and maintain annual department competencies. Good interpersonal skills and effective communication. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions. Ability to work closely with others as a team member and follow Service Excellence model. Ability to properly assess and prioritize responsibilities and tasks. Ability to work in fast paced and often changing healthcare environment. Basic knowledge of computer to perform data entry for charges. Interest in a healthcare career a strong plus.
