Oversee individual program operations in the Engine Lubricant Research Division. Monitor engine build and test operations performed by laboratory staff, including oil sampling integrity, test procedure compliance, data analysis, client updates and final report review. Coordinate with diverse support groups such as fabrication, instrumentation, inventory, accounting, shipping and receiving, report generation, and safety, etc. Maintain numerous engine lubricant tests related to industry standard specifications for ASTM, CEC, JASO, and ISO and develop special lubricant evaluation techniques or component test programs for various clients such as needs arise.

Must have a Ph.D., or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Energy Engineering/Fuel Sciences. Must have one year of experience in the job offered or in the related occupation of Research Assistant. The one year of experience must include experience with diesel engines along with their mechanical components such as fuel injection, ECU’s, sensors; and experience with Basic and C programming. Experience need not be gained post Ph.D. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience will be accepted.
