Reports to the Senior position. Rutgers University is currently implementing the School Systems Improvement (SSI) Project, a five year $39.7 million U.S. Dept. of Education sponsored grant for improving teacher and principal effectiveness through evidence-based performance evaluation and professional development systems. Performs specific research tasks and skills for the SSI project; performs field based classroom observations and other field based data collection practices; enters, analyzes, and performs data quality control checks; conducts literature searches and collecting scientifically and empirically supported relevant data to assist in manuscript, journal article, and conference presentation preparation; assists in the development and preparation of assessment materials for school personnel and their compliance with IRB protocols, operational policies, and procedures. Coordinates communication and correspondence between Rutgers SSI Project staff and LEA staff; generates project status reports and presentation material. Is also responsible for record keeping, filing, copying, office supply management and procurement.

Job Requirements
Requires a bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related scientific field or discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant research experience, and knowledge of general principles and practices within psychology and ability to use that knowledge for practical application. Requires previous research, administrative, or project management experience in psychological or educational settings. Must possess proficient software skills and knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and Internet Explorer. Requires proficiency in using SPSS statistical software. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Prefer experience performing research with teacher evaluation systems or classroom observation frameworks in a K-12 school system.
