The Research Software Engineer develops and maintains software infrastructure to support data analysis and management related to ongoing research program in the Section of Computational Biomedicine.
Essential Job Functions:
Maintain databases and storage systems.
Ongoing design of analytical pipelines and other software for sequencing and micro array data in collaboration with bio-informaticians, working with faculty, postdoctoral fellows,
graduate students and others to understand and define requirements.
Prototype and implement new functionality by modification of existing software and/or development of new software using Java, Python,and PERL and associated application frameworks.
Regular communication with faculty, trainees and staff including participation in ongoing lab meetings and other requested forum.
Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred with 8 plus years of experience.
