Percent Time: 100% Type of Position Specified Term: A staff member may be appointed to term status for a specific term not to exceed three years in order to accomplish a specific purpose or when the duration of funding is limited or unknown. Duties:
Assist in the performance of social science related research by gathering information and assisting in the preparation of material for inclusion in reports; administer tests and/or questionnaires and compile results; and to collect, tabulate and assist in the processing of data obtained. Education Required:
Master’s degree in biological sciences or equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience in the conduct of behavioral sciences research. Experience Required:
3-5 years experience in research participant recruitment and coordinating research studies in a behavioral sciences lab.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated attention to detail and a high level of organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products, statistical software packages (e.g. SPSS) and comfort with learning new computer software programs.
Experience in training and supervision of students, graduate assistants and other research personnel.
Experience in working with adolescent research subjects.
Experience in the development, testing and implementation of experimental neurocognitive tests.
Experience with Linux-based or similar operating systems.
Proficient in biological sample collection procedures (e.g. venepucture, screening test kits).
Experience in multi-modal neuroimaging data processing.
Successful research subject recruitment at local communities.
Ability to work a flexible schedule and to travel within Iowa.
Familiarity with data analysis needed for presentations, manuscripts, progress reports and grant proposals.
