You will use your proven RF design knowledge and test experience to design, model, fabricate and test RF printed circuit boards and modules.

Essential Responsibilities

Apply fundamental RF design, simulation and characterization skills to support novel RF circuit development and integration efforts in healthcare and energy related areas. These applications could include magnetic resonance systems, near-field electromagnetic measurement systems and far-field RADAR systems. Circuits comprise packaged and bare die discreet components (FETS, etc), RF custom integrated circuits and COTS components.

As an RF Designer you will:
Be a part of a team of leading engineers and scientists to develop RF technologies in the fields of instrumentation, communications, controls, and healthcare

Work in a lab environment to develop designs, prototypes, circuit boards, and test plans

Work with other GE teams towards new product introduction of prototype designs

Effectively communicate results by preparing written reports and making presentations to peers and management describing overall objective, systematic analyses, and conclusions

Qualifications/Requirements

Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline with emphasis on RF Design or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines with at least 5 years of industry related experience in the area of RF circuit design

Demonstrated understanding of RF circuit board design, simulation, fabrication and test

Understanding of microstrip and stripline components and designs

Understanding of scattering parameters

Demonstrated experience in the design, prototyping, build, and test of RF electronic systems and subsystems

Familiarity with modeling software and programming tools such as Cadence, ADS, Momentum, SONNET, etc..

Working knowledge and use of relevant RF test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzer, phase noise meters, function generators, etc…

Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.

Desired Characteristics

5 to 10 years RF Design Experience using ADS, Cadence or other RF circuit simulation and layout tools

Expert RF circuit troubleshooting skills

Demonstrated leadership experience, including successful track of completing deliverables on schedule and on budget.

Experience in RF subsystems and systems

Experience in RF circuit board EM modeling and simulation

Understanding RF radio and radiometer systems design, simulation, and characterization

Proven track record of successful circuit designs

Experience up through X Band and beyond

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Ability to work across all functions/levels as part of a team.

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Clear, concise communication.

Highly driven to meet deliverables and timeline.
