**The Regional Nursing Pool Nurse are required to float to all five hospitals within the Baptist Health System. Requirements are 2 or 3 shifts per week commitment. Two shift status requires 2 shifts of weekend coverage and Three shift status require 4 shifts of weekend coverage. Call is required for Dialysis and Procedural areas.
TO PARTICIPATE IN THE REGIONAL NURSING POOL, THE FOLLOWING ARE THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of nursing
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Hires into any area must possess current Texas State License for Registered Nurse. Current BLS-Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE / SPECIALTY CERTIFICATIONS:
DIALYSIS : Two years acute/chronic dialysis for Dialysis.
MED-SURG/TELEMETRY : Three years in acute care for Medsurg/Tele. ACLS required within one year of date of hire or transfer date into unit.
CRITICAL CARE : Three years in adult and interim critical care units. BLS required. ACLS required within one year of date of hire or transfer into unit.
WOMEN SERVICES : Three years in NICU or Labor & Delivery. BLS required. NRP required for NICU wihin one year of date of hire or transfer into unit. STABLE required within one year of hire or date of transfer into unit. Fetal Monitoring required in L&D and Antepartum within one year of date of hire or transfer into unit. ACLS required for L&D within one year of date of hire or transfer into unit.
EMERGENCY SERVICES : Three years in Emergency Room. BLS required. ACLS and PALS required within one year of date of hire or transfer into unit. NVCI required within one year of date of hire or transfer into unit. TNCC required within two years of date of hire or transfer into unit. ENPC (one time) required within two years of date of hire or transfer into unit.
SURGERY SERVICES : Three years in surgery, critical care or recovery. BLS required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have eye/hand/foot coordination, finger/fine dexterity and be able to handle/grip/squeeze. Must be capable of transferring-vertical/horizontal, lifting carrying greater than 35 pounds with assistance and be able to push/pull, stoop/bend, kneel, walk, sit, crouch/squat, stand, hold, flex/position/twist, restrain, and reach.
SUMMARY: Under minimal supervision, provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse based on matching the pateints' needs with the nurse' competencies.
