The Clinical Supervisor on Women’s Center will function as an extension of the Department Director/Manager in tasks and assigned duties. Makes patient assignments/tasks according to needs and patient load as well as available staff.
Assists Manager in resolving acute problems including after hour issues. Coordinates with the Department Manager and Director on all other aspects of department functions as needed.
Provides clinical care to patients, and acts as charge nurse as necessary.
Acts as a resource person to assess overall situations of the department, is capable of making independent decisions and reports pertinent information to the Physician, Manager, Director or House Supervisor. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of age appropriate patient care activities, to ensure optimal delivery of quality care with in established standards and targets.
Requires completion from accredited school of nursing.
Must maintain current State Registered Nurse license.
Current AHA CPR for Healthcare Providers card.
Attends at least 75% of staff meetings and is involved in in-services and remains current on nursing issues and regulations
Reads and learns information on new policies and procedures in a timely manner.
A nurse in Women’s Center either within the first year of hire or every two years thereafter to maintain the following competencies:
Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (recertify every two years).
Complete skills checklists.
Complete and maintain hospital/unit specific mandatory requirements in a timely manner. Individuals will be enrolled in courses based on previous experience and unit needs.
