Exempt; full-time; 40 hours per week; Monday – Friday; 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; full-benefits

This professional position is responsible for supervision of Montevue Assisted Living nursing staff and comprehensive resident care. Supervision is received from the Montevue Assisted Living Manager.

Examples of Work:
  • Supervise nursing personnel; contact personnel as needed for staffing
  • Prepare monthly staffing schedule for Nursing Department
  • Perform monthly Physician Order turnover for all residents
  • Monitor and oversee MARs/TARs documentation
  • Complete (or assist with) performance reviews staff disciplinary processes, etc.
  • Oversee health care services for all residents; provide hands-on assistance with all aspects of service delivery as needed
  • Ensure compliance with all state regulations; Montevue Home policies, procedures and standards of care; and medical orders
  • Complete routine medical record audits to ensure compliance with documentation requirements
  • Evaluate nursing service and suggest modifications; plan and organize orientation and in-service training programs for staff members
  • Investigate and report all accidents; take appropriate action, as needed, in response to operational and situational problems as they arise
  • Work with the Assisted Living Manager to assess changes in resident health care needs; recommend service changes and/or transfers as needed
  • Perform limited duties of the Administrator, as assigned, in that person’s absence
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing work experience – must include minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Current RN license issued by the Maryland State Board of Nurse Examiners
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Knowledge of provisions of the State Nurse Practice Act in order to recognize the legal aspects of nursing
  • Knowledge of current nursing methods and procedures
  • Knowledge of Maryland Assisted Living Regulations
  • Ability to effectively supervise and direct the work of others
  • Ability to effectively perform duties requiring substantial specialized judgment and skill in the observation, care and counsel of all residents; in the promotion of health and the prevention of illness; and in appropriate response to crisis/emergency situations which may arise
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co?workers, other medical professionals, residents and their family members and the general public
  • Strong and effective spoken and written (English) communication skills including the ability to encourage and assist residents and others facing medical situations and dealing with complex medical terms, as well as the ability to accurately compile and maintain detailed medical notes and resident records
  • Physical requirements include the ability to move/carry medical equipment as needed; to lift/move and assist residents as needed; to perform other duties as listed above
