This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-time RNto work primarily in a triage position.

The hours for this position are:

Wednesday and Friday: 8am-5pm Thursday: 1pm-5pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following

Cancel and reschedule patients when necessary.

Schedule appointments for patients, following office policy and procedures for triage and for appointment template.

Schedules all follow up appointments as directed by the providers or as indicated on encounter forms.

Document verbal conversations with patients when appropriate.

Documents information into patient record in an accurate, legible and timely manner.

Obtains patient signature on Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) according to Medicare requirements.

Triage patient phone calls.

Process patients prescriptions.

Follow appropriate security procedures for opening and closing of office.

Keep up to date and informed on company/office policies and procedures through staff meetings, correspondence, etc.

Communicates with specialist offices/diagnostic facilities to schedule appointments/testing and instruct patients on testing procedures.

Issues necessary referrals based on insurance requirements.

Obtain necessary documentation from referring physician according to insurance requirements.

Obtain prior authorization based on insurance requirements.

Must be aware of patient confidentiality and bring any concerns to the site manager.

Communicate any patient concerns or complaints to the Site Manager.

Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines, and confidentiality policies.

Communicate need for medical supplies to nurse manager.

Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of basic nursing principles and protocols.

Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality.

Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records.

Skill in appropriate assessment and assistance techniques.

Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, members, physicians/providers, managers, co-workers, and external customers.

Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.

Qualification/Requirements: Valid RN license required. Previous medical office experience preferred. Computer familiarity required.
