Position Summary:
Prepares, sets up and delivers room service trays to patients.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
  • Prepares all accompaniments, both modified and non-modified, for all Room Service customers, including patients, guests, etc.
  • Restocks condiments areas.
  • Accurately sets up room service trays.
  • Promptly delivers tray to patient's room using scripted announcement as entering room, verifies patient identification, and opens containers for patient as needed.
  • Pulls soiled trays from utility room, delivers to dishroom, and sanitizes cart prior to next delivery. Changes out soiled tray cart as needed and/or requested.
  • Exhibits control under stressful situations continuing to work with speed, consistency and accuracy.
  • Reads and reviews menus for preparation according to proper procedure.
  • Cleans 'wall-to-wall' of designated work area according to cleaning schedules/guidelines.
  • Capably performs the following culinary basics: portioning, blending, mixing, assembling, and all other techniques as required for food preparation.
  • May perform other duties as assigned or requested

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or Education Certificate preferred.
  • Required to be at least 16 years of age.

  • Frequently uses hands and fingers to handle items such as serviceware and cleaning equipment.
  • Constantly able to communicate verbally and in written form.
  • Frequently able to detect and discern both loud and soft sounds such as individual voices and phone calls/paging.
  • Frequently able to use all types of vision, such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception, to complete daily tasks.
  • Occasionally required to detect unusual odors that could indicate spoilage or environmental issues.
