Education Required: High School Diploma. A minimum of 1 year UAS experience with a degree. A minimum of 3 years UAS experience without a degree.
Education Desired: Associates Degree in any Discipline.
Skills Required : Technicians must have hands on aircraft maintenance experience with at least one year of MQ-9 or equivalent experience. Must be able to troubleshoot, repair, test, and operate MQ-9/MQ-1 (Reaper/Predator) UAV, GCS, ground support equipment, half racks and aircraft ground power equipment. Must be able to perform organizational level maintenance on Aircraft and GCS and conduct Pre/post flight/Thru-Flights and scheduled maintenance inspections. Must be able to conduct aircraft, GCS, LRE, LOS and BLOS communication checks .
Skills Desired: A&P licenses a plus
Position Description: Avionics technicians are required to inspect and conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities using applicable technical orders, directives, and instructions. Techs will work directly with a maintenance lead or production supervisor is meeting mission support requirements. They are required to perform basic post-flight, thru-flight, preflight, acceptance, and transfer inspections, launch, recovery, towing, servicing, and ground handling actions. They are responsible for testing, repairing, and operating unmanned aerial vehicles, ground control stations, and ground support equipment in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, technical orders and procedures and military regulations. They will troubleshoot aircraft avionics, general aircraft electronics, GCS, KU-Band satellite communications and support equipment anomalies and take appropriate remedial repair actions including R&R of line replaceable units. Provide assistance with installation, testing, and verification of equipment included in interim system upgrades. Techs may be required to perform aircraft crew chief functions and ensure all aircraft forms and maintenance actions are properly documented in accordance with local procedures and directives. Techs may be tasked to perform RPA assembly/disassembly, packing and shipping to fulfill mobility requirements. Technicians are team players and could be cross utilized or asked to provide technical training, task evaluation, and perform in a supervisory role for assigned personnel. Work schedule: Shift work.
