Under the direction of a radiation oncologist, performs a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation; constructs cerrobend blocks and executes dosimetry duties. Successful completion of formal radiation therapy program knowledge of: Anatomy and physiology, medical terminology related to, radiology, principles of operation and care of radiotherapy equipment, currently accepted radiotherapy procedures, radiation safety requirements and practices for the operator, patient and public,film processing systems, mechanical and electrical safety practices and requirements in the patient examination environment, computers with a background in Windows operating systems current California license as a certified Radiologic Technologist, Current BLS Healthcare Provider, ARRT registration in radiotherapy, California Fluoroscopy certification

Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital has proudly served as the sole healthcare provider for western Nevada County for more than 50 years. In addition, we have more than 90 board certified primary and specialty care physicians on our active and associate medical staff.
