Applicant must have a High School diploma or equivalency with basic literacy and knowledge of general medical terminology.
Ability to read and write in order to review radiology records for completeness, respond to written and verbal requests for patient information.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations for collating and duplicating of radiology records.
Ability to operate computer system and use numerous functions for a variety of tasks.
Good interpersonal skills, including poise, tact and diplomacy, required to handle sensitive situations with internal and external customers.
Analytical skills necessary to maintain filing system, collate radiology records in preparation for reading and so forth.
Under general supervision and following prescribed procedures, collates, retrieves, delivers, releases, files, and overall maintains radiology medical records. Compiles, types and distributes the inpatient schedule. Organizes own workload to meet established priorities. Demonstrates an ability to work with groups of all ages to provide clerical support services taking into consideration the unique physical and psychosocial needs of patients relative to age-specific requirements.
