Assist Technicians I and II in testing, analyzing, adjusting, repairing and operating electromechanical devices and instruments. Operates simple hydraulic equipment in support of team requirements. Assists with range operations by operating computer and logging events as they occur when required. Fills out work order forms. Loads and unloads trucks and other conveyances; Moves supplies and material to proper locations; Performs range and worksite police, collection of refuse and salvageable material; Digs, fills, and tamps earth, levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper and rake; Shovels earth and mud, clears culverts and ditches; Cuts trees, brush, and grass using brush blade, bow and chain saw, string trimmer, or riding mower; Maintains firing position, target locations, and revetments, cleaning debris and performing pressure washing , painting, carpentry, concrete repair, and other general maintenance tasks; Operates hand and power tools; Operates 4X4 range trucks and all-terrain vehicles as required, occasionally making parts runs on state or federal highway systems; works alongside heavy equipment; Installs and repairs targets. Performs other duties as assigned (example: cleaning shop, tower areas, assists with installing target thermal panels, performing range security, checks, or other task necessary for continuous efficient range complex operation). Employee will be required to follow any other job–related instructions and perform any other job-related duties requested.

Performs task of a physical nature requiring strength, coordination, and stamina. Assists technicians in the skilled trades by performing specific or general duties relating to the task at hand.

A High School Diploma or GED equivalent. A familiarity with basic principles of electrical, hydraulical, and mechanical apparatuses. Knowledge of radio/telephone procedures. Possesses current or can obtain First Aid/CPR certification. Ability to function and speak clearly over military hand held radios and telephones. The ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English. Must have vision correctable to 20/20 in one or 20/25 in both eyes. Must have hearing ability to react to hazards when working alone. Physical health and stamina sufficient to offer reasonable assurance that they will not prove a hazard to self or others. Possesses the ability to accept guidance and follow instructions; possesses driver’s license valid for the operation of a motor vehicle in the state of Georgia. Requires ability to stand continuously for a period of two (2) hours or more; ability to lift/carry boxes/packages not to exceed 70 lbs; physical dexterity to push/pull, climb/balance, bend/stoop, twist/turn, kneel/crouch, crawl, reach overhead, grasp, use feet for foot controls; ability to operate a vehicle of four wheels, up to 1-Ton. Performs work indoors/outdoors, in extreme hot and cold weather; may experience vibrations, noxious fumes, gases, odors, lightning forest fires, venomous/dangerous animals and/or insects, and high levels of noise. Works in high wind/pollen/dust environment; Work requires physical presence around high voltage and machinery. Subject to call at all hours; Works at remote locations for sustained periods under stress and without supervision; may be required to wear or carry a variety of protective clothing and/or equipment designed to safeguard against explosion, fire, power cutting tools, electrical hazards, dust, pesticides, toxic paint fume, loud noise, welding arc residue of molten metal, detritus slung from mowing, sweeping and the effects of military munitions; Will work morning, afternoon, and night shift according to a rotating schedule; responsible for co-workers safety in hazardous conditions.
