DESCRIPTION

The Real Estate Loan Processor will work closely with loan sales representatives and third party partners such as realtors, brokers and service providers to provide excellent member service. Responsible for managing assigned loan pipeline from application to funding; Process loans to ensure compliance with internal and external real estate lending guidelines and to protect the Credit Union's security interest.

DUTIES

Review loan applications for completeness, accuracy and for initial qualification. Communicate and continually follow up with the member to provide a pleasurable lending experience. Request required documentation on approvals to include: title search, flood certification, appraisal, proof of income, proof of paid liens/judgments, and other stipulations listed in approval notes or required by an underwriter. Immediately resolve any issues that would negatively impact the Credit Union's future collectability, lien position, equity position, and/or marketability. Maintain a working knowledge of each account in the pipeline, noting the account with each new status. Once all documentation has been collected, reviewed and approved, present complete package to underwriter for clear to close. Upon execution of the new loan, correctly disburse loan proceeds to member, third party or appropriate title company within the required time frame. Audit all real estate loan packages to ensure proper signatures, disbursement and documentation is obtained. Immediately report and resolve any issue that requires corrective action.Establish relationship and remain point of contact with members throughout the life of their loan to assist in capturing future and referral business. Provide payoffs, loan verifications and process release of lien. Work with third party vendor and member to resolve any hazard insurance coverage issues. Under the direction and guidance of management, prepare, present and verify reports; Create new reports and checklists. Assist in maintaining and updating the real estate system with any software or document updates.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED equivalent required. College degree in related field preferred. Minimum 3-5 years real estate lending experience - financial institution or title company preferred.Strong analytical skills and decision making ability to make lending decisions and translate guidelines.Possess a complete working knowledge of mortgage loan underwriting concepts, techniques, terminology and regulatory guidelines.Secondary market experience a plus.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced, high volume, work environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills.Good organizational skills to manage loan pipeline.Strong time management skills required.Ability to work independently and as a team.Excellent negotiating and problem solving skills.Must have strong computer skills, with an emphasis on desktop underwriting and other web-based loan platforms.
