PERFORMANCE PLANNING

Performs a variety of departmental functions, including inventory control, receiving all supplies, medication and equipment / furnishings, delivering supplies, equipment / furnishings, data input for receipt of goods and filing of receiving documents, in addition to all ship-out functions, including manifests and record keeping.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Distribute supplies, equipment / furnishings to designated locations in a timely and orderly manner.
  • Maintain and care for departmental supplies and equipment and work area
  • Stock all inventory supplies in appropriate areas as necessary.
  • Receive all supplies, medication and equipment / furnishings in the MMIS.
  • Physically verify accuracy of all received shipments.
  • Assist in inventory control by maintaining the Receiving Department inventory in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Manage the activities and job performance of the distribution tech personnel, as needed.
  • Perform clerical duties, including Receiving records management, filing and documentation of shortages.
  • Assist with the receiving, inspecting, verifying, accepting or rejecting of all supplies, medication and equipment delivered to the DCH Regional Medical Center, and verify that all paperwork, documentation (such as packing slips, bills of lading, receiving reports, supply requisitions, etc.) are accurately completed and processed.
  • Process all returned goods, including completion of RMR, freight and air bills, packaging and tracking.
  • Interface with Purchasing and Accounting staff to resolve all invoicing and receiving discrepancies.
  • Contact vendors regarding details of shipping and receiving, return goods authorization (RGA), shipping tags and shipping instructions.
  • Receive lab specimens and ensure accuracy of documents for ship-out.
  • Assist with procurement and storage of medical gases.
  • Maintain Receiving Department and office in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Maintain Ship-out area in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Order all supplies for Receiving and Shipping.
  • Schedule deliveries to departments as necessary.
  • Resolve receiving exception issues as necessary.
  • Retrieve, deliver and store surplus assets for disposition.
  • Maintains own professional growth and development through continuing education opportunities e.g. workshops, seminars and classes.
    • Maintains performance, patient and employee satisfaction and financial standards as outlined in the performance evaluation.
    • Must adhere to the DCH Behavioral Standards including creating positive relationships with patients/families, coworkers, colleagues and with self.
    • Requires use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software and intranet.
    • Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
    • All other duties as assigned.
    MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED High school diploma or equivalent is required with minimum of two years college preferred. At least two year’s experience working in a distribution center environment is preferred. Supervisory experience is preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and human resource skills are required. Knowledge of MMIS is required. Data entry and document management is desired. One year of experience as a Distribution Tech or equivalent is required. Experience in ship-out is strongly preferred. Experience in Purchasing is desired. Must be able to drive a straight shift, eighteen foot cargo truck and work with minimal supervision. Must have a current, valid driver’s license. Must be able to read, write legibly, speak and comprehend English.

    WORKING CONDITIONS Frequent interaction with internal customers in person and over the phone, on a daily basis. Must possess average manual dexterity and fine motor skills to use computer and other office machines Must be able to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. Must be able to lift a maximum of fifty (50) pounds with frequent lifting, pushing, and carrying objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds. Normal color vision. Physical presence onsite is essential. Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range. Able to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
